Radome Applications

ATM Radomes

Infinite RCS supplies radomes on a global basis to civil aviation authorities, airports, and prime radar manufacturers. Our success is due to offering standard solutions that surpass the customer’s expectations in terms of electromagnetic performance and structural integrity, considering environmental conditions. All of our radomes have a standard wind speed design of 155mph; however, we can offer radomes that are capable of survival in much higher wind speeds if necessary. It is essential that our radomes offer complete confidence to the end user, especially in this industry where passenger safety is paramount.

We offer radome solutions capable of operating in common Air Traffic Management bands. The transmission loss prediction below is a sample of one solution developed for a specific ATM application with operating frequencies from 1-4 GHz. The transmission loss prediction takes into account radome diameter, dish diameter, as well as the ATM radome panel construction, both for the body and bolting seam.

SATCOM Radomes

We offer A and C-Sandwich composite radomes suited for land and maritime fixed-site or tactical SATCOM applications. We offer various sizes and laminate designs to ensure optimal performance of your antenna system. Designs are analysed using house software developed and optimized by our engineers and expert RF consultants. Samples are often tested to ensure our radomes will perform as predicted.

We offer radome solutions capable of operating in a number of SATCOM bands.

Fixed Site Typical Sizes

Typical sizes range from 7.2ft (2.2m) to 62ft (18.9m) and are most often segmented units.

Tactical SATCOM Radomes

Our durable composite radome solutions are an excellent choice to ensure your antenna system is protected and operating effectively in harsh environments. We work closely with the end user and develop our radomes with our customer’s requirements in mind. When designing a tactical radome it has to be robust and easy to erect in extremely demanding environments especially if located in a war zone. Our mobile designs require minimal effort to relocate and ensure the user has reliable satellite communications in every environment. Our customers are always looking for the tactical edge, we aim to help gain that advantage.

Tactical Typical Sizes

7.2ft (2.2m) to 14ft (4.3m) segmented and single piece units.

TT&C Radomes

We offer radomes for Telemetry, Tracking and Command / Control Antenna Systems. Our radomes will allow your TT&C systems to operate more effectively over a broader range of weather conditions. A radome also reduces the corrosive impact the environment has on the antenna pedestal and components allowing for less maintenance and less downtime. Integrating a radome into the system during the design phase of the antenna site will likely reduce the economic impact on the overall system as a radome allows for reduced capabilities from antenna components such as gears, foundation, and the pedestal structure.

IT RCS has supplied numerous radomes for telemetry applications. It is essential to maintain our Infinite Technologies RCS, Inc.’s objective to ensure optimum performance and most of all taking care of satellites in Orbit. Generally, our A-Sandwich radomes are used to provide a protective solution that offers exceptional performance over the L, S and C Band frequencies.

L-Band, S-Band and C-Band

Weather Radomes

We provide radomes for radar weather applications that withstand high winds and harsh environments, delivering enduring performance for telemetry.

Our sandwich radomes are designed to protect both commercial and government-operated land and maritime weather radar systems. They are configured for your required frequency of operation, whether it be S-Band, C-Band, or X-Band, to give you the best possible performance while protecting the antenna from severe weather conditions.

IT RCS has supplied radomes to all of the primary weather radar suppliers with excellent results. Our sandwich radomes are designed to protect the latest Dual Polarization Doppler Weather Radars, where exacting performance in both Vertical and Horizontal polarization is essential.

Custom Radomes

At Infinite RCS, we specialize in providing custom-shaped and custom-sized radome structures for systems that require a unique envelope for performance or for civic sensitivity purposes. Our team of expert engineers and technicians has the knowledge and experience to design and manufacture radomes that meet your specific requirements.

We understand that some systems are unique and may have different requirements for size, shape, and color. That’s why we offer a wide range of standard tooling options for radomes, from 4.6ft (1.4m) up to 77ft (23.5m), and can also create custom geometric designs, including segmented, one-piece, quasi-random, oblate, and other regular geometries.

Our radomes are made with the highest quality materials, ensuring that they are durable, lightweight, and weather-resistant. We also offer a wide range of pigments for our exterior coating to accommodate most color requirements. The color is an integral part of the radome and requires no further painting throughout its life expectancy. Custom multi-color and camouflage patterns are also available options, giving you the flexibility to choose the best design for your system.

We take great pride in the quality of our radomes, and that’s why we design them with longevity in mind. Our radomes have a minimal service life of 20 years with periodic maintenance, and with a good maintenance program, they can likely last even longer.

We understand that custom radome costs can be a concern, but with our in-house engineering and tooling capabilities, we are able to keep costs to a minimum, even for one-off items. We will work closely with you to evaluate your specific situation and provide you with a competitive quote.

In summary, our company offers a wide range of custom radome solutions that are designed to meet the unique requirements of your system. With our expertise, experience, and in-house capabilities, we can provide you with a high-quality, durable, and cost-effective radome that will protect your system and enhance its performance.
